JÖKULSÁRLÓN :: GLACIAL KINGDOM

On an island -in the middle of the Atlantic- I came face to face with raw beauty, in its purest state of being; transparent as glass, hard as diamond, raw as only the wild at heart can be. Glacial ice on a black lava beach, an ice cold atlantic wind, crashing waves... glacial kingdom turned into a time capsule. Past to future, future to past :: nothing ever ends.

Tara Dougans :: "beware of a man´s shadow"

I love the beautiful illustrations by Tara Dougans. The bellow pictures are part of an animated series called "Beware of a Man´s Shadow", which she made for London Fashion Week FW2012 Menswear. There was also a little movie connected to it and on her website you can see the animated version of the below illustration; definitely worth checking out & really a name to keep track of I´d say!

contrapposizione + "2012 :: New World Order"

Upcoming friday -july 6th 2012- there´ll be the official opening of "Contrapposizione"; a fashion & art exhibition inspired by Renaissance Venice, at the Castle of Alden Biesen in Belgium. My contribution to the exhibition consists of 12 illustrations, entitled; "2012 :: New World Order". In case you´d wonder what my work is about, then this might (or might not) give you a small hint already:

In case you´d happen to be in Belgium this summer, then you can always check out the exhibition at the Alden Biesen Castle (Kasteelstraat 6 - 3740 Bilzen - Belgium). All the artworks will be on display from july 7th till september 2nd 2012!

Detail :: Craftsmanship :: Amazing Illustrations

Birds, butterflies, ethnic patterns, jewelry, Gothic fantasy, top designer fashion garments and a great hand; all the elements I love in an amazing illustration! Add to that a good eye for detail and craftsmanship, and you get a description of Canadian-born/London-based art director and illustrator Tara Dougans. Her work has been published in numerous magazines and web postings. She always manages to capture very inspiring moods in her beautiful & most inspiring graphical work! I totally love it!
